Honoring the Legacy of Dr. Bennett York

For nearly 56 years, Dr. Bennett York dedicated his career to caring for the people of Hattiesburg and the surrounding communities. Beginning his practice in 1970, Dr. York built what would become Hattiesburg Oral Surgery and Implant Center from the ground up, establishing a foundation rooted in exceptional surgical care, compassion, integrity, and a genuine commitment to his patients.

Throughout his remarkable career, Dr. York became much more than a respected oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He became a trusted name in our community, caring for generations of families and forming lasting relationships with patients, dentists, healthcare professionals, and friends throughout South Mississippi. Over the course of more than five decades, he touched countless lives—relieving pain, restoring smiles, improving oral health, and helping patients through some of their most important moments of care.

In May 2026, Dr. York retired from the practice he devoted his life to building. While his daily presence around the office is greatly missed, his influence remains woven into the heart of Hattiesburg Oral Surgery. The standards he established, the relationships he nurtured, and his dedication to putting patients first continue to guide our practice today.

We are incredibly grateful for Dr. York’s nearly 56 years of service to Hattiesburg and the surrounding areas and for the legacy he entrusted to us. As Hattiesburg Oral Surgery moves into its next chapter, we are proud to carry forward the foundation he built while continuing to provide our community with the experience, compassion, and exceptional care that have defined this practice for generations.

Dental Implants
