Dr. Alston Owen joined Hattiesburg Oral Surgery in July 2021. He attended the University of Mississippi, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Forensic Chemistry. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis in 2017.
Dr. Owen completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he served as Chief Resident of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from 2020–2021. He practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with particular emphasis on tooth extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, and IV sedation. Dr. Owen is committed to providing personalized care while ensuring his patients understand their treatment options and feel comfortable and confident throughout their surgical experience.
Dr. Owen and his wife, Katie Love, are proud to call Hattiesburg home and enjoy being involved in the community while raising their two children.
Outside of the office, Dr. Owen enjoys spending time pursuing some of his favorite interests. An avid Ole Miss athletics fan, he loves cheering on the Rebels and following Ole Miss sports throughout the year. He is also passionate about golf and especially enjoys playing scenic courses, with Canada and Jackson Hole among his favorites. An outdoorsman at heart, Dr. Owen enjoys many types of hunting and appreciates any opportunity to spend time outdoors.
